Studio formato da John Illingworth e Angus Primrose fondato nel 1958.
Nel 1958 John Illingworth apre un studio di architettura navale, in collaborazione con il giovane architetto Angus Primrose e subito inizia un buon flusso di ordini, in particolare dalla Francia. Nel mettere a sistema il processo avviato con Laurent Giles in MYTH OF MALHAM , John Illingworth si specializza nella progettazione generale e nella progettazione dell’armamento delle barche da regata, sfruttando tutti i benefici in grado di aggirare le regole di stazza, ottimizzando le principali misure della barca per ottene un rating favorevole (dimensioni, punti definiti dalle formule,ecc), mentre Angus Primrose disegna le carene. Lo studio e l’ottimizzazione delle regole del RORC porterà alla progettazione di yacht progettati “su misura”.
La collaborazione tra Illingworth & Primrose durò 8 anni (dal 1958 al 1966) .
